ABOUT THE
EXHIBITION

OVERVIEW

The Art of Light, Photography Exhibition

This exhibition celebrates the beauty, emotion, and storytelling found through the lens of a camera. Light is the foundation of every photograph, shaping mood, revealing detail, and transforming ordinary moments into extraordinary works of art.

This open themed exhibition invites photographers of all experience levels to share their unique perspectives and creative vision. From breathtaking landscapes and intimate portraits to striking architecture, wildlife, street photography, abstract compositions, and experimental imagery, all photographic styles and subjects are welcome.

Whether capturing a fleeting moment or crafting a carefully composed scene, photographers are encouraged to showcase the artistry, technical skill, and personal expression that make each image their own. Join us as we celebrate the power of photography to inspire, connect, and illuminate the world through The Art of Light.

CRITERIA

  • Theme: Open Photography Exhibition:

The Suwanee Arts Center invites photographers to submit original photographic work for this open-themed exhibition. All subject matter and photographic styles are welcome. This exhibition celebrates creativity, technical skill, artistic vision, and the diverse ways photographers capture and interpret the world around them.

  • Originality Requirements

All submitted images must be photographed by the artist and originate from the artist's own camera. Images may be captured using digital or film cameras.

Post-processing and editing are permitted, provided all editing is completed by the artist. Composite images, digital enhancements, and creative editing techniques are acceptable as long as the final work is the artist's original creation and does not infringe upon any copyright.

Photographers may be asked to provide additional information regarding their photographic and editing process. Raw files or original image files may be requested for verification.

  • Accepted Media

Printed photographs on archival photographic paper, metal, aluminum, acrylic, canvas, and other professional quality presentation materials are accepted. All prints must be produced using archival quality materials suitable for gallery exhibition.

  • AI Policy

AI-generated images or photographs created primarily through artificial intelligence image generation tools are not eligible for this exhibition.

AI-assisted editing features commonly found in photography software, such as noise reduction, object removal, masking, color correction, or similar enhancement tools, are permitted when used to refine an original photograph captured by the artist. The submitted work must remain fundamentally based on the artist's own photographic image.

  • Presentation Requirements

• All photographs must be professionally framed or gallery wrapped on canvas with a minimum depth of 1¼ inches and painted edges with no visible staples.

• Maximum size is 48 inches in either direction.

• The gallery can accommodate only a limited number of oversized works, and larger pieces may be subject to more competitive selection.

• All artwork must be wired for hanging. Sawtooth hangers are not permitted.

  • Sales & Commission

• All artwork must be available for sale.

• The Suwanee Arts Center retains a 30 percent commission on all artwork sold during the exhibition.

• Sold artwork must remain on display until the exhibition closes and will be released to purchasers after the exhibition ends.

• Accepted artwork must be hand-delivered to the Suwanee Arts Center with a clearly labeled identification tag including the artist's name, artwork title, medium, and price.

• Artwork not picked up within 30 days after the exhibition closes will become the property of the Suwanee Arts Center.
