CRITERIA

• Open Theme

The Suwanee Arts Center invites members whose membership is active as of the submission deadline, Sunday, October 25, to submit original artwork for our Open Theme Members Exhibition. This exhibition is an opportunity for our members to share their creativity, artistic vision, and unique perspectives with the community.

There is no required theme or subject matter. Artists are encouraged to submit work that reflects their individual interests, creative practice, and artistic style.

All artistic styles, subjects, and media are welcome, including painting, drawing, photography, digital art, printmaking, mixed media, ceramics, sculpture, fiber art, collage, and more.

• Originality Requirements

All submitted artwork must be the original creation of the submitting artist.

Artwork may incorporate traditional or digital techniques, found materials, or other creative processes, provided the final work is the artist's original creation and does not infringe upon any copyright.

Artists may be asked to provide additional information about their creative process or the materials used to create their work.

• Accepted Media

All media are welcome, including but not limited to:

• Painting
• Drawing and illustration
• Photography
• Digital art
• Printmaking
• Mixed media
• Ceramics
• Sculpture
• Fiber and textile art
• Collage
Artwork must be created using professional-quality materials and be suitable for gallery exhibition.

• AI Policy

AI-generated artwork created primarily through artificial intelligence image generation tools is not eligible for this exhibition.

• Presentation Requirements

• Two-dimensional artwork must be professionally framed, gallery wrapped, or otherwise professionally presented for display.

• Canvas must have a minimum depth of 1¼ inches and painted edges with no visible staples.

• All artwork intended to be hung must be wired and ready to hang. Sawtooth hangers are not permitted.

• Three-dimensional artwork must be stable, properly finished, and suitable for gallery display.

• Maximum artwork size is 48 inches in either direction.

• The gallery can accommodate only a limited number of oversized works, and larger pieces may be subject to more competitive selection.

• Artwork must be properly prepared for display and safe for handling by gallery staff and visitors.

• Sales & Commission

• All artwork must be available for sale.

• The Suwanee Arts Center retains a 30 percent commission on all artwork sold during the exhibition.

• Sold artwork must remain on display until the exhibition closes and will be released to purchasers after the exhibition ends.

• Additional Guidelines

• All submitted work must comply with applicable copyright laws.

• Accepted artwork must be hand-delivered to the Suwanee Arts Center with a clearly labeled identification tag including the artist's name, artwork title, medium, and price.

• Artwork not picked up within 30 days after the exhibition closes will become the property of the Suwanee Arts Center.

• The Suwanee Arts Center reserves the right to refuse any work that does not meet these guidelines or is deemed inappropriate, offensive, unsafe, or improperly presented for exhibition.

• Submission of artwork does not guarantee acceptance into the exhibition.
