Executive Director
Position Overview
​
The Executive Director is the chief executive officer of the Suwanee Art Center (SAC), responsible for leading, managing, and growing the organization. This role places a strong emphasis on fundraising and resource development to ensure long-term financial sustainability, while also overseeing artistic programming, operations, community engagement, and staff/volunteer leadership.
The Executive Director serves as both a visionary leader and public ambassador, advancing SAC’s mission, inspiring investment, and deepening community impact.

Key Responsibilities
Fundraising & Development
• Lead all fundraising initiatives, including donor cultivation, corporate sponsorships, grants, membership programs, and special events.
• Embody and articulate SAC’s vision, inspiring donors and supporters to invest in its mission.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with individual donors, foundations, businesses, and community partners.
• Develop and implement a comprehensive fundraising strategy to meet annual and long-term financial goals.
• Partner with the Board to expand philanthropic support and identify new revenue streams.
Leadership & Management
• Serve as the public face of the gallery and new art school, promoting its mission and vision.
• Partner with the Board of Directors to set strategic goals and ensure accountability.
• Supervise staff and volunteers, fostering a collaborative, inclusive, and mission-driven culture.
• Oversee daily operations, ensuring compliance with policies, budgets, and regulations.
Programming & Community Engagement
• Oversee exhibitions, educational programs, and community initiatives that align with the SAC mission.
• Collaborate with artists, curators, and educators to deliver innovative, high-quality programming.
• Increase visibility through marketing, media relations, and digital outreach.
• Develop partnerships with schools, cultural organizations, and civic groups to expand community reach and impact.
Financial & Administrative Oversight
• Develop and monitor the annual budget in collaboration with the Board Treasurer.
• Ensure strong financial controls, reporting, and accountability.
• Manage contracts, vendor relationships, and facility operations.
Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree in arts administration, nonprofit management, business, or related field (Master’s degree preferred).
• Minimum of 3–5 years of leadership experience in arts, culture, or nonprofit organizations.
• Proven track record in fundraising, donor cultivation, and grant writing.
• Strong communication, networking, and relationship-building skills.
• Ability to balance artistic vision with financial and operational management.
• Passion for the arts and commitment to community engagement.
Compensation
