SPRING EXHIBIT 2024

The Suwanee Arts Center strives to advance opportunities for artists by hosting and curating several exhibits each year. These exhibitions will consider entries in 2D and 3D art of any medium.  Craftsmanship and presentation of artwork will be criteria for acceptance into the exhibit.

​CRITERIA​

• Accepted media - includes but is not limited to:

 oil, watercolor, acrylic, charcoal, pastel, colored pencil, mixed media, printmaking, photography, fiber art, three-dimensional art, including ceramics, pottery, woodworking, metal, and sculpture and videography. Metal and/or acrylic photos ARE acceptable.

• All 2D artwork and photography must be properly framed or at least 1 1/2” deep gallery wrapped with painted edges and no visible staples.  Please limit size to no larger than 42" in either dimension. 

• All art must be wired to hang (no saw tooth hangers). 3D artwork must fit on a gallery pedestal or the artist must provide the pedestal.

• Artwork must be for sale. SAC retains 30% commission of all works sold during the exhibit. Please price accordingly.                                         

• Sold works may not be removed from the gallery prior to the close of exhibit.

• Entries must not violate copyright laws.

• All accepted artwork must be hand delivered to Suwanee Arts Center with a legible identification label. Labels must include: Artist’s name, Title, Medium, and Price for artwork.

SAC reserves the right to refuse any submitted work which does not adhere to the guidelines listed, is deemed inappropriate, offensive, or improperly presented.

AWARDS

Overall Best in Show, 2nd place, 3rd place, Honorable Mention and Emerging Artist categories will be awarded.  People's Choice awarded at the end of the Exhibit. Visit Suwanee Arts Center to vote for your favorite piece of art.

​INSURANCE AND LIABILITY

Each artist is responsible for insurance of his or her own artwork. While all care will be taken while art is being exhibited in the Suwanee Arts Center, SAC and its members or anyone working on the exhibition, assumes no responsibility for any damage to the artwork during delivery, installation and de-installation. SAC will not be liable for artwork not claimed after specified pick-up dates and time.

​PUBLICITY

Images of works may be used for SAC marketing, social media and online gallery.

ENTRY FEE AND APPLICATION

Entry fee for SAC Members $35 (entitles artist to submit 3 pieces)

Non SAC Members $45 (entitles artist to submit 3 pieces)

Emerging Artist (high school students ages 16-19) $15 (entitles student to submit 1 piece)

Fee is non-refundable.

​FORMAT YOUR FILE

VERY IMPORTANT: Name your file(s). Artist name - Title of artwork 

**The image file must identify the artwork title- we can not decipher random file names/numbers. 

Entries must be smaller than 3MB.

Failure to follow exactly as stated above may disqualify your work.

You will receive an email from suwaneeartscenter.org confirming your submission has been processed.

You will be notified by email about the acceptance of artwork.

PROSPECTUS CHECKLIST & CALENDAR

 

SUNDAY, March 10th

Online Submission Deadline received by 11:59 pm

 

Tuesday, March 12th

Notifications emailed to accepted artists on or before January 9th.

You will receive an acceptance email which will inform you if one or more of

your entries have been ACCEPTED into the Exhibition. We would like to include

everyone's work in the exhibit; however, space is limited.

 

Tuesday and Wednesday, March 19 & 20th

Artwork hand delivered to SAC 11 - 5 pm

Please contact SAC if earlier drop-off is required. 

Late artwork will not be included as exhibit curating will be affected. 

 

Opening Reception

Saturday, March 23, 2024  12 - 5 pm

View artwork, meet the artists, and enjoy light refreshments. Free and open to the public.
