Bob Ross Painting Class:  Mountain Vista

Ages: 16+

Our Bob Ross painting classes are perfect for beginners and experienced artists alike. You'll learn the basics of Bob Ross's wet-on-wet technique and create beautiful landscapes in just a few hours. All materials are included, so you don't have to worry about anything but having fun.

Our classes are held in a relaxed and supportive environment, and our instructor is passionate about helping you learn and grow as an artist. Whether you're looking to create your first painting or perfect your technique, our Bob Ross painting classes are the perfect way to do it.

All supplies included. Bilingual instruction available: Korean/English

Master's Painting Technique: Puppy with a Pearl Earring

Ages: 16+, intermediate + skill level

Learn the painting process of Johannes Vermeer, one of the most famous painters in history, while adding your own furry friend to the masterpiece "Girl with a Pearl Earring."

In this class, you will learn about Vermeer's unique painting techniques, including his use of light, color, and perspective. You will also learn how to create a portrait of your four footed family member. By the end of the class, you will have created a beautiful painting that is a tribute to your cherished and beloved pet.  This workshop runs in two sessions.

The medium of this course can be Acrylic or Oil.  Oil medium supplied, which is 50/50, linseed oil and odorless thinner.

For ages teen through adult

During this series students will learn the fundamentals of wheel throwing and glazing of pottery projects. Intermediate students will learn to refine their throwing and decorating skills. New students will learn the basics and receive guidance while practicing and refining their skills.  Class size is limited and allows for great one to one instruction. 

 

​Date:  Mondays, June 26, July 3, 10, 17, 24 & 31, & August 7, 14 & 21.  8 class series.

Time: 6:00 - 8:00PM (+30 minutes clean-up)

Beginner Photography: Learn your Camera!

 

Learn your camera and capture your summer fun!  

This beginner digital photography course will help you master your digital camera. Learn the basic functions of your camera so you can begin to shoot in manual mode, capturing higher-quality images of the people and places around you. Bryan, a professional photographer will show you how to see the world like a photographer, whether you’re just starting out or you’ve been taking photos for years.

Artist Teaching Artists
Art Instructor Workshop


Are you a creative person who wants to share your passion with others? Do you have a unique art process that you want to teach? Many artists find the act of teaching both rewarding and educational in itself. If you feel this might be you, then join us for this 2 hour free class, "Artist Teaching Artist,"

In this class, you will learn how to:

  • Identify and verbalize the key and supportive elements of your process

  • Learn and become mindful of your expertise in relation to your students

  • Understand the cognitive load of your students, and avoid overload

  • Create engaging and interactive lesson plans for each level of learning

  • Learn effective teaching methods to help your students 

  • Assess student development with clarity and forward action 

 

By the end of this class, you will be well-prepared to begin planning and structuring your art process in the form of a class, whether you are teaching in a classroom, a studio, or online.

This class is open to all artists, regardless of their level of experience.

Photographing Your Artwork

 

Selling your artwork is a wonderful experience, yet how many sales do we lose when someone loves your painting, but can’t quite afford it?  Art Prints may be the answer for you. This course is about teaching photographic skills with the goal of selling Art Prints, be it paintings, drawings, or any form of 2D art.

Our apologies, smart phones will not be covered.

 

Please bring 2 to 3 works of your own that we will shoot as examples.

Classes and workshops are filled on a first-come, first served basis.

Please note that no student’s space will be held without FULL PAYMENT of class fees.

Credit card payments accepted through registration on website or by calling 678-878-2818.

CANCELLATIONS

The Suwanee Arts Center reserves the right to cancel any class or workshop due to insufficient enrollment or inclement weather. Full refunds (minus processing fee) are issued for cancelled classes. We make every effort to notify students of postponements and cancellations at least 24 hours before the first scheduled class. Dates and times are subject to change as necessary. The Suwanee Arts Center may elect to postpone a class in order to accept additional registrations to meet minimum enrollment requirements.

REFUNDS

To withdraw from a class or Lantern workshop and receive a refund, the request must be made at least 7 days prior to the first day of your class.

ABSENTEE POLICY

Make-up classes and credit for missed classes are different for each class. Please see instructor for details.

CLASSES & WORKSHOP POLICIES

We do not provide supervision of children before or after classes. We ask that you arrive promptly to all programs and do not leave children unattended. For parents who are late picking-up their child, Suwanee Arts Center will charge a $1.00 per minute late fee. The Suwanee Arts Center reserves the right to substitute instructors when necessary.

Classes may be canceled due to inclement weather or Gwinnett County Public School weather/holiday closings.
